A Sydney filmmaker claims he has found the wreckage of Sir Charles Kingsford Smith's plane off Burma. Sir Charles and his copilot disappeared in 1935.


It'd be good news if the mystery was finally solved, but this is the same bloke who claimed to have found a Japanese mini sub off Sydney before some other divers actually found it. I'll be waiting for some better evidence.

I saw this on the news today and was actually a bit skeptical, due to the fact that he is basing the find on a sonar image he believes is the wreckage of the Lockheed plane that CKS was flying from London to Sydney.

Obviously, i will be taking it with a grain of salt until we get some images and actually proof. They mentioned that is going to be trying to get financing to launch an expedition and bring the wreckage up...
