It was B772, A6-EMK. Interesting to note this flight (and all LGW flights) is usually operated by a B77W.
Doesn't seem to be LGW's day today either! This EK bomb scare, Monarch A300 couldn't retract gear so had to return, BA flight reported to have "impacted something" and a VS 747 G-VXLG had a single engine failure and has had to return!
I do quite enjoy a spot of flying - more so when it's not in Economy!

The morning flight has been a 777-200 all Winter, and will continue to be so through the Summer. The evening flight has only just switched to 77W operation.

- Two drug busts at JNB
- Tail strike at MEL
- And now, apparently a LGW bomb threat
Do you think this makes them somewhat more cautious to ensure nothing else happens: perhaps slightly tighter safety/security processes in a sly memo to all staff?

Quoting PlymSpotter (Reply 12): Minor correction; an ex crew member - I doubt he'll find alternative airline employment anytime soon either! What an utterly stupid thing to do
Certainly not in the airline industry at any rate, I'm sure word gets around quickly to prospective employers

Maybe was late for work and didn't want the plane to leave without him. He will have lots of time to consider his actions now and whether it may have been better to call in sick that day instead. :P Not very bright regardless.
