I was just looking around and according to wikipedia ( i know its not the best source ) it says they are not due to recieve their first 777-300ER until 2010. But i have found a picture of what looks to be their first one, though correct me if i have the wrong airline. It just seems strange were only in March and their not due to recieve it until 2010 and its already here? Is this normal? Its just usally we see them maybe a month or 2 before delivery? Here is the picture, it is the one next to the BA T7. It only has its rudder painted!

Hi Jordan,
yes, the first 77W (FOSYD) for Air Austral is on that photo.
If you look closely at the tail you will see that they also will have a slightly different painting.
With light blue "dots" on the tail.
First delivery due in late April, IIRC.
You also can book special offers from CDG to RUN on the 77W flights.
The 77W will only fly RUN-CDG for the first months. The planned flights to SYD and on to NOU are operated by 77Es.
Viele Gruesse,
Jan

Quoting Virginblue4 (Thread starter): I was just looking around and according to wikipedia ( i know its not the best source ) it says they are not due to recieve their first 777-300ER until 2010.
I did some googling and found that the original plan was for delivery sometime now, not 2010 .
Quoting an ILFC press release dated Aug 22 2007: AIR AUSTRAL, based in Réunion, Indian Ocean, France, leased two (2) new Boeing B777-300ER aircraft from ILFC. The aircraft, MSN 35782 & 35783, will be powered by GE90-115B engines and are scheduled to deliver in February and March 2009. The lease terms are for 8 years each.
Of course there will be a delay of a couple of months from plan because of the strike

Noticed that in the image Matt took yesterday. I believe they might be flowers/petals? That's what they appear to be to me.
Yes. That is the fatigue test article. Stored temporarily until the refurb work on it is complete, then will undergo testing.
On another note, the unpainted AF bird does not appear to be on the field, which means she is probably in the paint hanger getting the new livery applied.
The BA 777 in the picture is a -200ER with RR engines, they have four of those scheduled for delivery soon. The first BA 77W should be coming in 2010 if I'm not mistaken.

Matt's site now has this photo of the aircraft in full livery. Looks very nice indeed.
