With SAA's nonstop flight IAD-JNB, how does the airline schedule crew?

I would guess one crew is needed JNB-DKR, one crew is needed DKR-IAD, but then two crews are needed IAD-JNB. Does one crew dead-head through all the way to IAD?

And how are the nonstops doing? Are they capturing the beyond-JNB traffic they were hoping for?
