Does DL still use Concourse C at CVG for DL Connection flights? I have some upcoming connections throught CVG on regionals and all flights appear to be using Concourse A and B of Terminal 3. Thanks.

Actually 1 wing of concourse C is still used at peak times, maybe 5 flights.

Do they actually use the building? Or just the parking gates? Seems like a waste of money to keep the facility open, run buses, etc for 5 flights. They could just be busing from a gate to the remote parking.

I believe that is what they are doing from what I have heard, your actual flight might say it departs from, for example gatre A20, you go to that gate, then take a bus to the plane which is remotely parked at C. The entire C terminal was closed in January.

Pretty much. A2 is set up where you get your boarding pass scanned there, then you go downstairs to where you used to catch the Concourse C shuttle. A bus takes you there and drops you off in the C70-C89 pier at one of the gates there. You then walk through the pier (it's completely unheated/air-conditioned, etc.) and get on your plane. You don't go into the actual Concourse area where the shops/etc. were.

It is so tiring hearing people through the years whine about concourse C at CVG. Terminal E at CVG is much worse and you hardly hear anyone gripe about that. I've been to many outstations that are evey worse.

Concourse C was, quite frankly, one of the worst HUB buildings out there. Outstations are a completely different monster - for many outstations, especially smaller ones, I could show up to the airport 30-35 minutes before departure and still not have to rush onto the plane. A hub is a different story.
Now, there are many poor regional facilities out there. IAD Concourse A is just as bad as CVG Concourse C. The Eagle satellite at LAX is just as bad. ORD Concourse E/F (UAX) can get cramped (although at least there's a Red Carpet Club there). SLC Concourse E is nearly as bad as CVG (though at least no bus). Let's just say that I'm glad that C is all but gone for 3-5 flights where passengers are in there for no more than 2 minutes. The new setup is so much better - no need to bus around, convenient Crown Rooms, etc.

When I was in CVG on Friday, they had about 4 gates over on the one wing of C set up with ground equipment. There was 1 ERJ parked over there but it appeared to be just parked there.
Question for the CVG-ers - what is the deal with all of the parked Comair CRJ's all over the airport? There was at least 15-20 CRJ's parked at various places around the airport. Are thesee RJ's out of service, in storage, or still in service?

Terminal E??? Ehhhh?
Sorry, meant Terminal E at SLC, which is far worse the concourse C at CVG ever was.

They have been stacking up for months. Usually there are some over by the now closed terminal 1, and then are some over on the OO ramp, which is directly across rwy 9-27. If I had to guess, these are the RJs that are being taken out of service and will soon be sent to storage or elsewhere.

Thanks for all the replies.
Over the last few days, I've been tracking the flights I will be on (trying to get a feel for on-time performance) and many times a flight will be listed as arriving at a gate that doesn't appear to exist on the DL website map of CVG. For example, yesterday a flight was listed as arriving at gate B31, yet the map only shows B concourse having 28 gates. ?????????

Does anyone know what the fate of Concourse C will be???
Are they going to 'sit on it' for a while and use it as a remote parking stand or demolish it or what??

I had the pleasure of flying GSO-CVG-DAY the other day, arrived to CVG at Concourse C, was made to get on the bus to A, went up the escalator and immediately got my boarding pass scanned at A2, and then back on the bus again to C. Thanks DL!!

B Concourse goes up to B38 now. They just haven't updated the maps yet.
B1-B12 were not renumbered, and I don't think B13-B15 were renumbered as well. Pretty much in every pod of four gates at CVG on the B Concourse is now 6 gates, and there have been additional parking spots have been placed at the end of Concourse B as well.
