It seems as if they are going to be turning a 787 into a Restaurant that will fly over LA. That has to be one expensive meal. It will be interesting to see if this works, but I have my doubts.

You think?? LOL
Unlike the Concorde one, this one is funny.

I don't care what you think of my opinion. It's my opinion, so have a nice day :)

It would have been better if they had said "and meals such as Poisson d'Avril would be served" since, evidently, in France it's known as "April's Fish Day" according to a post in the "Concorde Returns to the Skies" thread.

They "overegged" it a bit with the candles.

In any event, you hardly need a restaurant, Boeing and a.net have been making a meal over the 787 for nearly a couple of years now.

Dreamdiner...  rotfl

The dead giveaway:

"The aircraft will be configured to serve 50 diners in onw sitting, all of which will enjoy the Michelin star culinary offerings of French chef MR Fou d'Avril"...

Good one, though.

The last part of the article talks about a Munich based Oktoberfest-A380. Now I'd buy a ticket on that!

Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit posting...

This is in the same category as a shopping mall and bowling alley on the A380. Lot of hype, but do you ever see any of those things?

They cannot help themselves . . . quoting: "However he was quick to quell rumours of an Airbus A380 configured for “Oktoberfest-style celebrations” based out of Munich."

All in good spirit, and a good laugh in these difficult times. I love April Fool's Day.

You know, it isn't such a bad idea... Expensive, but we've got people lined up to blow $100,000 a pop for a 2hr ride into space. Even if it's only a few times a year, ala the ancient movie "Holiday Inn", it isn't such a crazy idea.

I think that's an exceptionally well written April Fool - moderators please let it alive, we need some humor these difficult days.

BTW I think the idea is even not complete unrealistic although the Dreamliner isn't the right airliner for that. With a smaller, not completely new airliner I give it a certain chance to succeed among the stars and starlets of the world.

It should be a smaller airliner because the capacity is really difficult so sell, a shorthaul plane because the flight duration is only two hours (18 hours would maybe reduce the clientele to a.netters  bouncy  ), and an old one because the utilisation is so low.

When I see what's going on Octoberfest I'd definitely give away that opportunity to fly an A380 in favour of my personal safety  bomb

Cheers  champagne
