Last Monday, hearing about #413, there are 2 STCs awaiting approval for Acft #413. One had been approved, the other in still in the FAAs' hands as of last Monday 30th March 2009. The 2nd STC approval should be any day, it was hoped that it would have happened last Monday.

There you go, last Monday was the last time at work, the FAA must have approved the 2nd STC since then.

Don't forget that CO will be getting a retrojet livery celebrating 75yrs.

Rumor is to get the fleet done as quick as possible. Our Mod lines in MCO might get in on the LiveTV installation.

Two things:

1) This is great, but those screens look shockingly small! Is the white strip on the bottom covering a part of the screen?

2) This aircraft operated flight 1493 but arrived about 3.5 hours late, likely due to weather. Consequently, there was an aircraft change for the return flight (392) to MCO (738 #231 from LAS). Is #413 hanging out in EWR for the night or was it reassigned to another route?

Boy, EWR is getting hammered today with all the rain, some flights operating five hours late!

No, they really aren’t that small. Here is a video of working LiveTV on the test seats Continental had on display. The screen is decent size and the TV screen can move as seen in the video. The row of seats in front of us was reclined. The photo above does make the screen look kind of small. These also do not have the white thing. It’s probably instructions or something since it is brand new.

Scott, CO Insider on FlyerTalk said that they are currently testing the service with only 35-40 channels just to work out the kinks. As those kinks get worked out, then they will offer the 80+ chanels. A LiveTV rep is said to be on board to help out any problems on this first plane.

No, it would have flown the next MCO flight. There is a reason this plane is going EWR-MCO-IAH-MCO-EWR-MCO, etc. It's to show it to EWR and IAH staff and to make sure it continually returns to MCO for tweaking (since that's where LiveTV is based).

Quoting Mbm3 (Reply 15):

After all, with a seat pitch of 31", it's right in your face. So a larger screen would be overkill. And of course, you would have to modify all the tray tables to fit a larger unit.

Yeah, I assume he meant PTVs since basically all the major US airlines have some sort of general entertainment on their 737s (audio/sometimes video on UA, overhead or PTV on Delta, overhead on AA, dancing flight attendants on Southwest, etc.)
