UAL 777 MCO Service...what Gives?

Can any of our UAL members explain why flight 728 is a 777 from IAD for the next couple of days instead of the ever exciting A320???

Spring break, maybe? I don't know about the so much, but a lot of schools in the midwest have spring break this week.

Looks like it is European Spring Break/Peak Season related since they are also substituting a 744 on the IAD to SFO route which is usally a 772 or 763 on 975.

It was just today as of now, it looks like a revenue glitch, the flight was overbooked by 100, It may be related to the schedule change for UAL this weekend. They 1000am flight went away from IAD to MCO, so it may have been booked full before they took it out of the system.

Yeah, was definitely surprised to see it today. Heck, we're surprised if we see a UA 767 once in a blue moon. Nice treat though........On a side note it was N777UA, which I believe was the first frame delivered.

On a side note they have also had at least 1 (maybe more) extra section 757 flights as well over the past couple days out of IAD to MCO. Something must have gotten FUBAR with the summer schedule going up.

I saw it tonight at work. I'll try to grab some shots of it tomorrow when it comes in. Everyone at LH was wondering why a UA 777 was here at MCO when it taxied past our gate to 17R.

Don't see it for Sunday.....the Sat sub may have as much to do with Denver weather screwing things up as well as other issues.

From UA? Not very often at all. We used to get a daily DL bird, but that (along with most widebody service) has passed. We get 10x weekly BA 777s in, though. So we're not without some T7 love.

Yeah, I was looking at FlightAware last night and they were showing a 777 for today. But they updated it and it's back to an A320.

A bit off topic, but does anyone know about Sun Country 8700, flight from DTW down to San Juan which stopped in MCO and parked at the NK gates, albeit briefly. Are they operating on behalf of NK?

Yes, NK signed a 5 day charter contact with Sun Country. They are tight on aircraft, and one of their DTW aircraft needs fixing after a hard landing.
