Whats doing with SWF ? when the PA took it over they promised to spend big bucks to make it nto the 4th NYC airport but in the meantime the only thing that has happened is airlines leaving SWF, does anybody know whats the plan for the future ? there were rumors of a LCC out of Europe starting there but meanwhile its just getting less and less flights

Well unfortunately for the Port Authority they took over SWF just before the economy tanked, it's going to be a long time before they are able to get back to the point they were just prior to the economic crisis. They are heavily involved with planning to build a 3 mile spur off the NJ Transit/MTA Port Jervis line near Salisbury Mills to SWF, that would connect directly with Manhattan via the new Hudson river rail tunnel that is about to break ground.
