I heard about this some time ago and it slipped my mind until tonight when one of my cousins who works for Morgan Stanley said something about being able to purchase first class for life on American Airlines for $140,000. Has anybody else heard/know more about this?

I doubt that. Check out the costs for a first-class fare for a long-haul, and you'll see why this is not possible. If it were only $140,000- AA would have shut its doors already. Heck, I'd kill to fly $140,000 for life... in COACH!

Yes, you can purchase a lifetime AAirpass, but the cost is somewhere in the millions, rather than just $140,000.

Call AA at 1-800-882-8880 and ask about the AAirpass program for details.

Actually......... about 30-40 years ago AA DID offer a lifetime pass for around $125,000- $150,000, in COACH though. The real reason why no one bough it was because the future of the airlines was so unsure at the time. No one knew how long they'd acutally be able to use to ticket for because some of the airlines were dropping or merging like flies!

if this is true and I was given 140G's to spend on what ever the hell I wanted it surely would be this.

This reminds me of when a life time Red Carpet Club membership went for something like $200. Correct me if I'm off

I love America. I guess that makes me Bush's poodle, but I'd rather be a dog in New York City than a prince in Riyadh.

How much is an AAirPass for real? I remember them being available for 1, 5, 10 years or a lifetime.

Are they automatically good for a confirmed First Class seat?

Surely there is someone on this board with access to SABRE to get that information.

Easier way to fly for free for life is to marry into an airline family or work for the airlines...  Smile

What about short term passes? Do any of the airlines offer unlimited travel within-say a 4 day period for a flat fee?
