I still remember UAL Mcdonald Children's meal. Its cool and tasty. I wish I can still have it as my steak on board. Though UAL has excellent food quality on board.

I have a question. Do they STILL offer Mcdonald food for kids? If yes, on which flights?

Hope to hear from you guys soon!  Smile

Yeah they do only from selected cities.

I think they are LAX/SFO/ORD/DEN/JFK and MCO

I saw some kid on my ORD/LAX flight have one last week. So they do still have it. If you request it at booking I am sure they would give it to you. You just might have to take a few weird looks from the F/A's and passengers. Smile/happy/getting dizzy

I believe UAL announced about a month ago that they are cutting the Happy Meals along with other things like hot towels.

Best Regards:

P.S: So do they still offer Hot towels as well as Happy Meals?  Smile

In what extent? Why?

United Airlines has been making several cost saving service cuts. Some of these cuts include:
-McDonalds happy meals
-hot towles
-lemonade
-godiva chocolates

and so on. Check out my topic from a while back entitled "No more Lemonade at United"

http://www.airliners.net/discussions/general_aviation/read.main/395688/

Well everyone, Im going on a 3 day trip, with SEA and IAD overnights. Have fun with out me.

Is it a COMPLETE CUT? That means NO hot towel, NO Happy meals, NO Lemonade AT ALL?

Sad to hear that......

3 weeks ago I flew SJC-DEN-MCO-ORD-SJC on UAL with my 6 yr old daughter. They had kids meals (with 24 hr advance notice) however they were not McDonald's like before. On one of the flights she had a hot dog, on another it was chicken nuggets, another was macaroni & cheese and I forget what the 4th was. She did get a cool special McDonalds/UAL toy with each meal. It was a toy jet complete with jetway equiped terminal and Ronald McDonald in the cockpit.

I remeber seeing 5 kids on my JFK-LHR flight with them eating Mcdonalds. I wish some airline would do the same with Burger King. I reallly do love their chicken sandwitches.

I can't belive that UAL is cutting all thses things Godiva and now hot towels. Maybe from now on I'll fly AA or VS on my next JFK/EWR-LHR. AA and VS are actually adding things. I can see why UAL's customer satisfaction is now plummiting (according to consumer reports 2000 issue) If this were SIA or JAL doing this; Business Travelers from Hong Kong to Tokyo would be fuming.

United Airline; When an airlines makes a decision it's final. Just look what happened when they got ride of lounges on 747s, L-1011s and DC-10s in the 70s. Remember when airlines added another seat in the 70s which the 1011's config went from 2x4x2 to 2x5x2 and 747s 2x4x3 which is now 3x4x3? They said that it'll be back. Well it's been more than 30 years and that hasn't hapened execpt for AA increasing legroom and VS bringning back most of the anemities that were bannished by airline CEOs years ago. I still miss eating Mrs Field's cookies on TWA 767-300 on the JFK-CDG and the JFK-SFO:-( Hell I also miss them at LHR and BOM.

The Friendly Skies Meals will continue to be boarded until all of the supplies have been depleated. Therefore, some stations may have the Friendly Skies Meal, while others will have the United Kids Meal.

As far as what is being cut from flights, be very careful when reading the following, as there are VERY SPECIFIC flights which the supplies are being cut from, and the changes DO NOT effect all flights.

NORTH AMERICA MEAL SERVICE CHANGES

-McDonald's Friendly Skies Meals no longer offered. United will board the standard children's meal currently used at non-McDonald's locations. Apparently, the company is working on a special United-designed children's meal and packaging that they "hope to introduce later this year."

-Removing Mrs. Fields cookies in UF on pre-arrival service flights. This is the second service warm cookie. However, the cookies will still be boarded when it's the primary dessert on short haul flights.

-Removing grapefruit juice, olives, and lemon peels from the beverage units.

-Removing Godiva chocolates from all flights.

-Changing ratios and choices from beef to pasta on lunch and dinner flights in Economy. This reduces the amount of the beef and chicken entrées and increases pasta.

-Removing refresher towels in all cabins on North America flights LESS THAN 3.5 hours long.

-Removed United First tray table linens on flights LESS THAN 3.5 hours. Passenger meal trays will now be placed directly on seat tray tables.

INTERNATIONAL MEAL SERVICE CHANGES

-Reducing refresher towels by one in most cabins. EVERYONE will still receive a refresher towel!

-Removing Godiva and all chocolates from United First and United Business in all international markets.

-Replacing Dalwinnie/Glenmorangie with Johnnie Walker Black in United First and United Business.

-Removing the welcome page from international menus for UF and UB.

-Eliminating cheese and cracker from tray setup in Economy.

-Removing United Economy menus in all Atlantic markets.

-Removing the soup course (FC/BC) from trans-Pacific, Narita-Singapore and Narita-Bangkok flights.

-Changing Mexico City to San Jose, Costa Rica, from full lunch and dinner service to a snack.

-Removing United Economy menus in all Latin America markets.

VIDEO CHANGES

-Boarding videos will no longer be provisioned and United will be returning to standard boarding music. FYI...boarding videos are the videos that have pictures of fish, etc. playing...

-United will go back to twice a month short subject programming for North America flights. Still better than most airlines.

-The second movie will be eliminated on westbound Transcon flights.

PROVISIONING

-The children's wings, playing cards, coat tags, portfolio paper and children's activity kits will be eliminated. Intra-Asia amenity kits will be eliminated

VSA340, these changes actually ARE temporary. Expect to see every service item taken off of planes to be put back ON to planes following the return to profitability.

Mad dog,
Maccas may be disgusting, but have you had an airline meal recently? I HATE airline meals... always either hard, cold or horrible!

Would much prefer a macca's burger meal!!  Smile

Well, I think CX offers excellent meal on board. I travelled to Kuala Lumpur in January and got back on CX. The food was excellent.

UAL's is good too. Try it out!
