I am just wondering how turkish airlines in doing on the Nairobi route?
I understand it was originally planned to be 4xweekly with A330 but now seems to be 3xweekly with B738.
Are the flights doing good? THeir departure from Nairobi is past midnight.

The route only started 2 months ago.
As I recall TK had planned A310s, not A330 initially, but since the A310 fleet keeps getting smaller (2 passenger frames left), the 738 fills in pretty well.
As far as the routes specifics, its timing is designed around the IST hub banks to offer connectivity across the network particularly to Europe but also North America. So far I understand so far its selling ok from European tourist looking to visit East Africa, and also Kenyan's flying abroad.
In the long run it should do fine, not the least being the growing importance and trade links between Turkey and Africa. For example Addis Ababa which operates now daily has become one of TK's highest margin routes, and often sold out weeks in advance. Go figure.
