At the moment, I'm in the business of trying to figure out which planes I have flown on retroactively, before I had any interestin airlines. So here's my question: My first flight was on United, from Denver to DTW, in August of 1985. Is there any chance that any of you might have some idea what type of plane that could have been? I dont remember any details about the plane, whether it was a single or dual aisle, etc. My guess would be that it was either a DC-10 or a 737 -200 or -300....any takers on this one?

I would guess a B737. One thing you should remember, was their a lot of vibration?

I was a young lad roaming around DTW in '85, but my guess would be a 727-200.

United timetable, July 1 1985:

DEN-DTW #680 10:56 dep DC8
DEN-DTW #238 16:12 dep DC8
DEN-DTW #720 18:51 dep DC10

So, what time of day did you fly?

Of course, irregular operations might have occurred...

Ok, first of all, i remember next to nothing about the flight, being that I was 5 years old at the time. I remember this much: It was United, from DEN to DTW, i really liked the feeling of taking off, and the gave us a deck of cards, LOL. I remember that we arrived in the early evening, so it must have been a late morning flight. That would lead me to beleive taht it was a DC-8, according to that timetable. I have no recollection of the vibration level on take off, or anything like that. LexPassenger: where did you come across the United timetable? I might be able to figure something out further....

Thanks for all your answers...
Steve

DTWSteve: I just have a lot of timetables going back to the late 70's. Packrat syndrome, I guess. Email with questions, or ask here, but I can't guarantee to get right back to you.
