Thursday April 16, 2009
An Air Canada flight from Brazil had to make an emergency landing early Thursday at Pearson International Airport.
The pilot of the Boeing 767 had notified Toronto's air traffic control the plane was having mechanical problems and fire crews and ambulances were called in.
The aircraft landed safely at 4:30am, with no injuries among the 129 on board.
The flight originated in Sao Paulo.
And overnight, another Air Canada plane out of Montreal was forced to make an emergency landing. It was forced to turn around shortly after takeoff because of mechanical trouble.
It landed safely and passengers were put on another flight.

Hey Amritpal you can check out this website for news of emergency landings rather than reading news articles from the over-sensationalized media. They happen all the time and at least with the AVHerald they make an effort to post correct facts. This return was a problem with the Autopilot and they returned to YYZ to get it fixed.. it was an overweight landing which is why it was an "emergency."
