So, I was around BIS today, and heard a CRJ coming in to land; I looked up and saw a DL wavy gravy plane landing.... and I thought to myself "what the heck, DL's SLC flight hasn't started yet, why would that be here?"

Well, I went home to check flight aware, and it shows up as MESABA 3341...

So my question is a Non-Mesaba plane flying a NW route as Mesaba?
If Delta owns any CRJ's, have they moved them over to Mesaba?

Thanks

Is it bad that I get excited to see even a CRJ overfly? Man, what this place does to you

Mesaba picked up a couple ex-Comair CRJ200s that are painted in the wavy gravy colors. They are operating these on Northwest Airlink routes. These days NW-painted and DL-painted aircraft are regularly operated on each others routes, so it's nothing out of the ordinary.

I was going through MSP on Tuesday and saw a Delta Connection CRJ landing also painted in the wavy gray livery and didn't think anything of it. Then I saw it park at the A gate's with the Mesaba/Pinnacle CRJ's and was confused. I looked up the tail # (N487CA) and saw it had been transferred to Mesaba. Pretty interesting. Also, I took a CRJ to GFK and noticed they no longer refer to the flight as Northwest Airlink or Pinnacle...it's now Delta Connection flight XXX. On mainline, I guess it's just Northwest Airlines now a part of Delta Airlines.

Yup, and to add to the confusion, Comair is operating three flights a day to/from MSP and DTW as NW Airlink.

All Airlink stations have been instructed to use "Delta Connection Flight XXXX" for all flights no later than 5/1. NW Airlink dies at the end of April I guess.

The stations are announcing flights as DL connection, but our inflight announcements (At XJ) continue to be "Northwest Airlink now a part of Delta." And as of right now, we have not received any word of a new AH revision. My guess is that will change in late june, early july. However, of course our CR9 and Saab flights that are actually operated as Delta Connection have their own sets of announcements.

Good goes around!
