Czech government today choose final biders for CSA privatizition, new owner will be either Air France - KLM or Unimex - Travelservis. Aeroflot and Odien group were disqualified to present final proposal.
My bet is AF/KL (or maybe my wish).

I hope so too, I hope they do, it would make more sense as AF/KL are already in SkyTeam and they are an airline!

And Unimex is behind Travel Service, the Czech Republic largest charter airline

My hunch is DL will take of any long haul needs from America (ATL, JFK). If AF-KL sees a need for Asia long haul from PRG then they will do it with A332s flying for example AMS-Asia-PRG-Asia-AMS

From USA Today...

'The decision will be made by the caretaker government of Jan Fischer, expected to replace the current cabinet on May 9, Kalousek said.'

Privatization would provide OK with a much need life line.

If AF/KL is the successful bidder I think OKs long-haul ops are good as gone. I doubt that the new owner would want to start off by making a significant and uncertain investment into buying/leasing new widebody aircraft. There isn't a big enough market between PRG and TATL destinations to warrant continuation of its long-haul ops.

Skyteam would be better off leaving OKs European network as is and utilising it as a feeder airline into CDG and AMS.

I hope that the first order of business for the new owner will be to get rid of the tired old A310's serving JFK

Most of them would probably go to cargo. There is always FedEx, UPS, and DHL though I'm not sure how much they want old airliners at the moment...

Korean Air already fly from Prague to Seoul, so that probably takes care of Asia demand

There is a fairly large Vietnamese community living in the Czech Rep. so perhaps with VN joining SkyTeam they will see this as an opportunity.
