From next 15MAY, Korean Air will temporarily stop operating the Seoul-Munich route. There isn't any official confirmation for reasons, but I guess flying ICN to FRA, MUC, VIE, ZRH, PRG,MXP which aren't so far one from the other is too much...

AMS can get a bunch of traffic from Skyteam partner KLM, but FRA, MUC, ZRH, VIE and lately MXP are *A territory, so not many chances to get connecting traffic in good conditions.

MAD is far away from any other KE station, so there's no competition between own stations to get the market (of course there's a lot of competition from other airlines like AF, KL, LH, AY, QR etc...).

LH already operates MUC-Seoul 6 weekly, so no real loss here.

Looks like KE was unable to obtain enough traffic to warrant this flight! But connectivity wise KE is flying to many destinations in Europe already.
