I was there with my mum and some other friends, we just had dinner at the Pier and when we starting walking along the Pier, we noticed that some people were looking towards the airport (you can see the airport, it's right next to the pier). Then we saw the plane in the water and a boat moving to the plane, the pilot was brought to land by the boat, at the same time approx 6 or 7 firetrucks arrived, together with 3 police cars, 2 fire rescue boats and a coastguard-helicopter. We've just arrived there a couple of hours before that accident happened, and we had to wait approx 1-2 hours as the airport was closed. At 8:30pm, one runway was opened and we could depart, tower told us to make sure we use the shortfield-takeoff-procedure (piper seneca)... i guess they are also kind of shocked after an accident like this.
