This a regular flight on a Saturday afternoon, routing ORD-DUB-CDG.
At least you got to see it, went over to DUB this evening just to see that but it was already gone by the time I got there  Sad

Dublin, where Sam Maguire will be coming home to in mid September

It's Air France Cargo and it used to route ORD-SNN-CDG every Saturday until DUB snatched it  Sad

What is the purpose of the stop in Ireland?

A 777F should have no trouble doing CDG-ORD loaded up to maximum payload.

F-GUOB operated AF6457 ORD-DUB-CDG.

Some days, it is operated via PIK, or via OPO and sometimes ORD-IAH-CDG.

HeeBeeGB is right, it picks up cargo in DUB and the service was started in response to Singapore
Cargo stopping their thrice weekly service a couple of years ago.
