I was wondering (NZ Anetters) when NZ were getting their 773(ER I think) ? or have they been deferred with the down turn?

I believe that the first one is still due for delivery sometime late next year . (which , so far as I know , was always the plan )

thanks for that - I am assuming they will directly replace the remaining 744 routes AKL/LAX/HKG/LHR first.

I believe there are two due late 2010 early 2011 and a further two about one year later. The fifth is about another year later.

Re the 5 NZ 77W's ordered so far:
ZK-OKI (Nov 2010), ZK-OKJ (Jan 2011), ZK-OKK (Mar 2011), ZK-OKL (Nov 2011) and ZK-OKM (Feb 2012).

'NZ1' recently said ZK-OKI was due in Oct 2011, so there could have been a change.

The Nov 2010 and Nov 2011 deliveries are noted in the 2008 Annual Report. The Jan and Mar 2011 deliveries were mentioned in a press release on the DAE sale and leaseback, and the Feb 2012 date was in the press release when the fifth was ordered earlier this year.

There are options for another two, probably for Sep-Nov 2012 delivery as the 744's they are replacing were advertised for sale and leaseback in 2007 with a 2012 delivery date.

Another new uniform, thats a shame I like the current one especially the hats for the ladies, the change in livery will be nice and it is always good to see a new product, I have no doubt it will be impressive!

suggest changing the thread title from 773 to 77W or 773ER.

The current uniform has not been well received so was updated about a year ago with darker colours and it does look a lot better. I too like the hats..will be interesting to see if they remain. The main issues people have with the uniform is that a lot of the uniform options look too casual (men and women) or frumpy (women).

no , the main issue people have with the uniform is that sadly Kiwis in general have no sense of style and wouldnt recognise it if someone hit them over the head with it ( just walk down the main street in any town/city in New Zealand and unless you are blind you will see that ) anyway , back on topic

at the moment NZ have 7 ( functioning ) 744s and have only organised purchase/lease of 5 777-300ER , I would think that it would take 6 frames to operate the twice daily LHR services , so I would think that in the short term maybe they will only take over one of the AKL-LHR services ( perhaps AKL-LAX-LHR) with AKL-HKG-LHR on the 777-200ER ? and I guess the other AKL-LAX return service ? I am guessing that they will operate the daily AKL-Australia services as well to help keep up the utilisation ( and to provide a consistent product for pax connecting to/from SYD/MEL to the longhaul network . As I say these are just guesses , does anyone have any more definite info on plans for them ( or is it too far out to be sure given the current state of flux of the industry )

Agreed that a lot of kiwis aren't that stylish (I'd say partly because of our wet climate makes a lot of clothes unsuitable and hence our love of the colour black). However just because a fashion label like Zambesi designs a uniform, it doesn't mean that their design is going to be a good one. The main uniform with the jacket etc isn't too bad, but I'm mostly referring to the female options with the loose fitting items that are hideous and I'll stick with my frumpy description thankyou.

I never said that at all. All I have said in relation to the 773ER's is that #5 was to be ZK-OKM

Apologies, I typed in the wrong year. That should have read: .... due in Oct 2010,
The point I was trying to make is that the first 77W could be a month earlier than the Nov 2010 date mentioned in the Annual Report. The rest of my post is correct.

"They've been slated in for a long time now, probably 12 months or more. First 773ER is to be ZK-OKI, and the rest follow sequentially."

That's right. October 2010. I was merely pointing out that what you originally posted was not what I had said. Our resident technical rep in Seattle is due to be in place by the beginning of July this year to oversee the program.

What will the new product entail?

Hopefully an enhanced Y+ configuration to adequately compete with V-Oz and QF IE 2-4-2 abreast.

Can't see anything happening with the lie flat Y-class bunks once mooted but would love to be proved wrong.

Any chance of the re-introduction of first class?

New uniform?

Hopefully an evolution rather than a revolution as I really do like the current one Liz Finlay designed. I just hope that they introduce more items that are more flattering for the Kiwi booty on some of the less catwalk shaped (particularly) female ground crew.

Be good to see a tropical version for flights to the Pacific and Queensland too.

New livery?

It'll be interesting to see this new iteration of the Koru, think we're all looking forward to it.

I must say, the current uniform has really grown on me over the last few years. On some female flight attendents, it can look quite sexy. Agree with you about the not so slim ground crew tho!  wideeyed

I hope it isn't just 'jade' and white. Would love to see shades of blue remain in the mix.
