Hey all, im here in LAS at the Aladdin on the Strip and noticed the different flight paths here. This place I liked due to their turnout, right overhead or to the otherside sorta low. Down by the Luxor, Mandalay Bay your right at the end of 19-25 (I belive from what ive herd on my scanner correct if i am wrong). Where they have the UAL DC-10s' parked is a cool site also for depature pics. So what hotel, approx floor and just cool places to spot while im here Thanks A lot,
DeltaDan

Looks like the Mandalay Bay is the closest (the Luxor is behind it), unless you want to stay at a dump on the other side of the airport.

Either Mandalay Bay or the Luxor. Each have their own, point of view. IMHO Mandalay bay would have a better view due to its height.

I stayed in Mandalay Bay, but on the wrong side to spot. I did catch a view from another person's room and I can say, it is probably the best bet. My view was actually of the Luxor, so I can't imagine it would be better than MB.

We got a players Suit at MGM Grand and were looking right out to the Airport. I must say it was fantastic. We were right by the North/South Rwy. Not too sure which one that is but Southwest used it a lot. I like it because its on the corner and really if you are hight enough you can see a lot of the airport.
There was a ledge in the window where I would sit and relax after a long day walking, you know just before dinner. It was actually my second trip to the Mighty Green Hotel. The other trip didn't produce a view of McCarran. But the Room was worth more than a view....good luck in Vegas all, I look forward to seeing all of you thing August!!!

Mandalay Bay is the best. Period. I'm heading out there Monday and I always get a room facing the airport as high as I can get. My first hour or two of the day is just watching planes. Then go down to their unbelievable tropical pool area. After long hours at the pool, go waste half my money at Blackjack. I came back $1,550 on top last year. So I will probably loose big time this week. I love Vegas, especially the endless free drinks! But anyway, have a great time! Go check out Mandalay, it is absolutely the best on the strip. Even if you had no interest in planes.
