According to Skyliner, Air Sylhet and Air Fiji have suspended operations.

Air Sylhet is no surprise, people here gave them 4 months max. They survived 4 weeks... the 757 has been ferried BHX - MAD back to Gadair.

Dont know too much about Air Fiji. Believe they have a bunch of Embraers and some Chinese Y12's and a PBN Islander. I think they also had a Trislander which has been stored at SUV for a while. Did they ever receive the MA60 on order?

Not a surprise at all. They planned on starting a comical route from MAN, doing DXB via VIE! Fares were double what EK's were and there was a stop over! There was a big fuss about them starting and on their website they stated some flights were 'sold out'! Yeh right.

Their website is still up and running although nothing bookable! My favourite quote from their site is:

'The message is simple: if an airline can survive the winter of 2008, then it can expect a bumper year in 2009'

Haha, comedy.

Poor Air Sylhet.

Notice the pilot on their website -- he's a white guy who looks like he'd be flying at LH or KL. How intentional is that, I wonder? Like they were too afraid to dare show a legitimate, darker-skinned captain.

Amateur, all the way around.

They suspend it's operation in 2008 but after some weeks the restart its service. Now it looks like they gone forever.

Is Air Fiji the other small airline in Fiji? The other being Sunflower, or is that still around? I flew Sunflower about 10 years ago Nadi/Taveuni/Savasavu. Quite a ride !
