Saw a few topics etc and thought about bringing it all together.
So what can we expect? There have been rumours of QR and IB ordering new aircraft, and im sure ive read EY may place an order but cannot remember where i heard that.
So, can we expect any surprise orders, or big orders? With the economy doom and gloom, its potentially a good time for airlines to order new aircraft and gain a good discount from manufactures, in the same way FR did in post 2001.
Or, on the other hand is this going to be a disappointing year?

NZ may announce the 733 (and potentially A320) replacement currently being investigated through RFI request between the 737NG and the A320 families. Expect an unsolicited approach from Bombardier too for their CS100 and CS300 family.

It was discussed some time back here; and majority agreed that CSeries suits NZ more than the 737 and A320's.
It will be a big boost for Bombardier and CSeries if they secure the order.

Maybe the announced order of AF/KL together with the announcement of GE offering an engine for the A350 ?
LH ordering 787/A350 and additional CSeries for LH mainline ??
IB ordering A330/A350s.
A second customer for the 747-8I.
This would belong in the military section but I would expect a decision regarding the A400M.
It will forever be a McDonnell Douglas MD 80 , Boeing MD 80 sounds so wrong

An order from a second airline for the 748i would probably come as the hi-lite of the Paris Airshow. On the other hand, I suspect this year's show may be somewhat subdued, so far as new orders are concerned. I suspect the same high quality aerial displays will take place but on the business side it's apt to be relatively quiet. I'm going to be surprised if we're surprised!
