I just got word that tomorrow, 4/13/01, there will be four TWA 717's doing a fly-by at Long Beach airport at 1pm.

For the local (southern CA) shutterbugs, this is a rare opportunity.

< > TWA will take delivery of four aircraft tomorrow. The four aircraft 5049, 5052, 5055 and 5056 will taxi and takeoff in sequence once title transfer/delivery has occurred. Estimated time for departure is 1:00 pm.
> The current plan is to have all four aircraft do a fly-by after takeoff. >>>

MD11Nut...
Where are these four birds headed once the fly-by is over?? I know in Kingman, there are two TWA 717s parked for the time being. Hope they're not flying there.
Perhaps to an AA base?? Regards.

The airplanes are headed to Kansas City (as was reported in the DAC MDC Commercial Airliners club at Yahoo) or St. Louis (as reported by KTLA which did a 1:30 segment on it tonight).

I go to Los Alamitos High, which is on the approach for LGB. Which way will they be taking off, mabey I can acutally see them. That would kick ass!

Sorry, they're gone already. From the segment on KTLA News at 10, looked like they were flying the normal direction though, so if they had flown by Los Al, which they probably didn't, they would have been landing.
