Hi there,
My Dad was on the EK763 from DXB to JNB yesterday 07/05/09 and it was diverted en route to MPM in Mozambique. Does anyone have any information as to why this was?

Loads of airlines diverted yesterday due severe weather at Joburg. Rain, thunderstorms and gusty winds battered the airport witch caused traffic to hold and run out of fuel before they diverted. EK763 diverted to Maputo as Durban and Bloem was not accepting anymore traffic due no more parking stands available.

Quoting Speedbirdie (Reply 2): Erm, surely if your father was on the flight he would have been told as to why the aircraft he was on was being diverted?!
Perhaps he hasn't had a chance to speak with his father yet and noticed via Emirates website the flight had been diverted or something like that. Shouldn't be so quick to jump on people.
