Im just watching on a TV show about the TCP toxin in cabin air from the aircraft air con system, showing how people all over the world are getting affected by the toxic smells inside aircraft cabins, therfe was one interview in perticular that i listen to, he was a pilot in sweden and what it looked like was that he was a Bae 146 pilot, and was describing how he and his co-pilot were paralysed from this toxin, it just got me wondering, about the 146, i know some ex Ansett Australia crew and how they used to remember how they had to 'capture' the cabin air every sector and then have it analysed.
Is this problem a common problem with this A/C or does this happen on other A/C types?
Sorry this is my first attempt at making a topic

Welcome to airliners.net.
I can't speak to the BAe 146 aircraft. I am, however, a mechanic on other types of airliners, and have my doubts as to the validity of this issue, which makes headlines every six months or so.
Now, for individuals that are more sensitive, perhaps so. But realistically, I just don't see where "all of these deadly chemicals" are really coming from. I mean, you're sucking in outside air, sending it through a few compressions and expansions, and piping it into the airplane. And the recirculated air is, these days, sent through a HEPA filter, giving you near-hospital quality air.
So, while I can see a limited possibility of chemicals entering into the airstream, I'm still very skeptical that this is a legitimate concer on most aircraft AC Pack designs.
