Spanair has just announced the winner of the 2 different corporate IDs they let employees and customers vote for.

They registered almost 80.000 votes, and the winner looks like this:

Looks a lot like Lufthansa to me. The colors and the Helvetica font. But I kind of like it.

Also they gave every participant in the poll a 25% discount off any flight with them.

What is that logo supposed to be anyway? It looks almost like Boeing's logo or the old McDD logo. The color looks like LH's.

I think that Sir Mix-A-Lot stuffed the ballot box.  Big grin

You're right. I never noticed that before but now I will always see a butt when I see the Spanair logo.

It looks ok, but pretty dull.

I liked a combination of the 'butt' icon with the lettering from the other logo. I put them into MS Paint and mixed them and it looked far better than the two choices.

Thanks for that indelible suggestion. I'm never going to look at that logo any other way now. Like a bad tune I can't lose.

It doesn't look so much like the Lufthana logo to me, because the kerning is a lot bigger. (Which is funny, because small kerning with Helvetica is the style these days.)

Not so much the style, as just that Helvetica has horrible kerning anyways. I believe there was even a Helvetica documentary that said the same thing.

I as well will always see the Spanair logo as a butt.

Reminds me of Earthlink a bit...
