Turkish Airlines increased its profit by 24% to 155 Million TL (Appr. $ 99.2 Million) in the first quarter of 2009.
Revenues rose by 17% to 1.279 Million TL ($ 819.9 Million), Pax by 8% to 4.9 Million; In the same period ASK grew by 15% whereas RPK by just 9% resulting in a drop of 3.7pp of the L/F.
The increase of the profit was possible due to lower fuel prices which were 16% lower than the same period in 2008.
