HAS chief Rich Vacar abruptly resigned his post yesterday...

I met him once myself. He is very nice and dedicated professional, committed into making HAS a world class airport system, he will be missed.

Now we wait to see if the positive relationship that HAS and the local aviation enthusiast community have built up over the past 9+ years will continue with the new leadership.

Mr. Vacar's abrupt departure is very strange considering what was completed under his term:

- Terminal E
- New International Arrivals Building
- New international cargo and passenger services
- 2006 Master Plan

- 2003 Master Plan
- Central concourse

I'm sure I am missing more of his accomplishments. I would have expected more fanfare/praise as he resigned.

In any event, I hope they find a replacement that continues to drive progress for the Houston Airport System.
