I know the schedules post August 18th have not been finalized yet, but as of today, the route is listed as mainline for the first time in a long time starting on that date. Right now it is showing an A319 MSY-DTW and a DC9-30 on the return. The a/c types might be different by then but usually if a schedule is changed from mainline to regional or vice versa that's what it ends up being. Along with this is at least a chance of MSY-MSP going mainline as well, because currently the aircraft are routed MSP-MSY-DTW and DTW-MSY-MSP. Regardless, it's nice to see more NW metal back in MSY.

I wonder if this is not a sign of DL trying to build up MSY? I can't think of anything in Aug that would cause a short spike in traffic. How many RJ's are being taken out (therefore fewer total flights)?

Dave

Can I have a mojito on this flight?

Well I would think that the Labor Day and end of summer vacations could have something to do with it?

Just a one-for-one replacement...CR9 to 319.

August and September are the slowest months in N.O in terms of tourism and conventions by far. Perhaps they are seeing good advanced bookings, though.
