There are around 500,000 Pakistanis in the UAE, so it is of course completely unsurprising that there is significant demand from Dubai, the UAE’s largest city, to Pakistan. Indeed, 8 cities in Pakistan are served. Needless to say, EK, one of the four airlines serving Pakistan from the UAE, has a substantial amount of connecting passengers flying to and from Pakistan.
Note 1: for simplicity, the following is based upon the week of 8th-14th June.
Note 2: it has been somewhat difficult to double-check all the information due to inconsistencies between sources and, in some cases, a lack of information. So, there might well be some errors and inaccuracies. There are also some incomplete parts.
Airlines:
ED = Airblue
EK = Emirates
NL = Shaheen Air
PK = PIA

Quoting Directorguy (Reply 1):
The net volume of traffic between Dubai and Pakistan is probably larger, since SHJ sees a lot of Pakistan-bound traffic.
SHJ doesn't have a "lot of Pakistan-bound traffic"; instead, it has a limited number of passenger flights, although some people will probably use these services if going to/from Dubai. I didn't include SHJ as I simply wanted DXB. But if we are to include SHJ, then 9 destinations in Pakistan are served, for Turbat is served from SHJ. The following will operate to/from SHJ in the same 8th-14th June week:
ED: 3 weekly to ISB; 4 weekly to LHE. All probably by 320.
G9: 4 weekly to KHI; 3 weekly to PEW. All by 320.
PK: 3 weekly to TUK (Turbat). By AT4.
I dislike referring to Wikipedia, but it mentions that an airline called Orbit will fly from SHJ to TUK via GWD (Gwadar). Does this actually operate?
"Everyone writing for the Telegraph knows that the way to grab eyeballs is with Ryanair and/or sex."
No mention of Orbit Aviation on SHJ's official website, which seems to be up-to-date. The service may have existed at one point, since this press release goes back 3 years: http://www.ameinfo.com/85842.html
SHJ has had more than its share of dodgy one-time operators with very little documentation. Orbit Aviation is yet another example.

Interesting thread.
Was it also you who started the Irani cities to DXB topic?
A few comments about the DXB-Karachi sector;
1, You missed MH which flies this route 2 x weekly using the A333.Complete routing is KUL-KHI-DXB with 5th freedom on the KHI-DXB-KHI sector.
2, It is also worth mentioning that in the past and even up until a few years ago Dubai and Karachi had a lot of 5th freedom options.
Egypt Air (CAI-DXB-KHI)
ZAS Egypt (same as MS I assume)
Royal Jordanian (AMM-DXB-KHI)
Yemenia (SAH-DXB-KHI)
TAROM Romanian (BUC-DXB-KHI)
Swiss Air & Swiss (ZRH-DXB-KHI)
Lufthansa (FRA-DXB-KHI)
KLM (AMS-DXB-KHI)
Air France (CDG-DXB-KHI)
Singapore Airlines (SIN-KHI-DXB)
Kenya Airways (NBO-DXB-KHI)
Ethiopian Airlines (ADD-DXB-KHI)
Quite a list isn’t it and im probably missing a couple of airlines here! Unfortunately all of the above mentioned airlines,with the exception of SQ,have axed KHI.
3, DXB-KHI was also served for quite some time by the now defunct private Pakistani airline AeroAsia.
4, With the falling number of passengers to KHI and the growth of EY here,20 of the 28 weekly EK flights are now flown by the A332.But if i recall correctly up until 2004-2005,nearly 20 of the flights were operated by the B772/B773 instead.All EK flights have always been on High Density (2-class) configured a/c.
Dubai and Karachi have deep and historic aviation ties.The first flight for a newly formed Emirates in 1985 was also to Karachi and that too on a leased PIA A300.Must say since then it seems the progress of the 2 airlines has been pretty much inversely proportional!

KHI: thanks for the list of airlines that once operated X-DXB-KHI.

Yes, I started the Dubai-Iran thread. (And also the Dubai-Afghanistan thread.)

Ah, yes. I forgot that. Thanks.

21 332s schedule between 8th and 14th June.

Yes, I recall that airline. But I cannot remember its frequency on KHI-DXB. Did it serve DXB from any other Pakistani city?
Cheers.

I cant confirm the frequency either,but i would imagine it was probably a 3-4 times a week service.Aircraft used was B737-200 in 2 class configuration.Infact you can even find a TR by forum member UK_Dispatcher on Aero Asia from KHI to AUH.
Since AeroAsia was based in KHI,i would imagine they only served DXB from here.I dont think they had a LHE-DXB or ISB-DXB service - but im not 100% sure.
