I was on El Al`s web page and i saw that they have a partnership with AeroMexico, and soon to have a codeshare partnership with Delta. Do you think that they will become part of Skyteam? any other airlines that could possibly join?

I quiet dont undestand why Aeromexico and El Al have a partnership . But then again they must know what they are doing . And I dont imagine EL AL in skyteam , but thats just my opinion.

I doubt El Al will join an alliance anytime soon. The negatives outweigh the positives. Unless SkyTeam wants to isolate and outrage middle eastern market, they could go ahead and link up with El Al. El Al is plagued by same problems the Taiwanese carriers suffer from; nobody wants to get involved in the messy political environment they operate from. Which alliance in its right mind would want to befriend a carrier based out in a country many refuse to recognize? (Israel and Taiwan)

Baec777, you are incorrect. El Al severed their semi-relationship with AA a couple of months ago, and decided to join with Delta. However, if you look at its agreements between AA and Delta, none of them have so far involved code-sharing, alluding to the facts that Watewate described.
