What was this Tristar doing here? DL only flies 727's, 737's, and MD-80's to IAH.

Too Bad all of the L1011's will be gone by this summer. There is a rumor the last flight by DL will be in July, I was figuring August.

DAL the last flt is scheduled to be on July 31st flt. 1958 from West Palm Beach to Atlanta. The last one to be in service is N728DA, which is actually the oldest one in DL's active fleet.

Probably was a diversion from DFW.

This was a diversion...however, DL's tristars are not strangers to IAH. The L10s operated from Houston in the late 70s into the 80s. One route flown in particular was IAH-ORD.

I flew on L1011 IAH-ATL back in 1982.

There is also a pic somewhere, if you do a search on CAE in the keywords, of a tristar that was diverted from ATL, and landed here at CAE! I wish I could have seen that.
