AF 065 back in the air towards CDG. Anything in the local news? I am guessing the quick turn-around means no tech probs w/ aircraft. Possibly a medical issue? Ironically I Just flew AF 064 on flight sim - real time - landed a few hours ago in LAX - I had no problems en route!

Quoting Boeing747_600 (Reply 8): Why the devil would he do that?!?! Its not his responsibility nor is it appropriate.
Why is it not appropriate? You could argue that the Captain should not inform the passengers, but even then that is a judgement call. If he just informed the crew, on arrival, that is quite smart. Considering that many of the passengers might have received notices from friends and family on their cell-phones. In this case you don't want the cabin crew being surprised. Note: the poster was working the flight, i.e. crew, not a passenger

Ia Orana All !
We were on AF 069 also LAX-CDG and we were told that 065 was going to MSP while we were flying. We were told that it was for a medical emergency indeed as AFCDGPTP told us.
We were also told about the AF447 ordeal when we arrived in CDG.

Sorry to everyone who wanted to see this aircraft at MSP. I could have made it out there, but it was raining and I had a couch that needed some holding down. Hopefully someone a little closer snapped a couple though....

I have NO problem whatsoever with the Capt informing the crew. I thought it was an announcement that he made over the PA system to the entire cabin. It was not exactly clear from the original post as to who the "us" referred to.
That the capt should not inform the pax is indeed a judgement call, but its one that I'd prefer to make.
