We were enjoying our brats on the deck tonight and we are watching the traffic on 12R and an AF 777 just landed. Going over to the Humphery Terminal. Started at LAX. Mechanical?

I was at baseball practice and looked at what I thought was just an A330 until it banked towards the airport and I could see the enormous wingspan and the GE90s! It was pretty cool.

AF 065 back in the air towards CDG. Anything in the local news? I am guessing the quick turn-around means no tech probs w/ aircraft. Possibly a medical issue? Ironically I Just flew AF 064 on flight sim - real time - landed a few hours ago in LAX - I had no problems en route!
 Wink - Cheers

AF065 stayed exactly 1h04 on the ground at MSP so definitely not a tech prob.

AF 065 LAX-CDG ETD 03:30P LT on Sunday 31 May was scheduled to arrive at CDG on the 1st of June at 11:00A LT

B-773 F-GSQG version 8P/67J/250Y; flight was almost full : 7P/60J/250Y

A male passenger on his 50's holding a lebanon and also a U.S. passport, seated in coach, had a cerebral vascular accident;

I was working in business, we were about to set the dessert tables when the purser told us that we were about to land in MSP;

Arrived in MSP around 08:50P LT
Departed from MSP after just 1hr and 4 min layover at 09:55P LT

When he deplaned, passenger seemed to feel much better;

Of course some passengers were more concerned about their connection at CDG !

And then, right after landing in Paris at 12:50P LT, our captain told us about the bad news about the missing 332 ...............................................................

Why the devil would he do that?!?! Its not his responsibility nor is it appropriate.

Poster appears to be AF crew, so I see no reason why the captain would not tell his crew after landing...

Why is it not appropriate? You could argue that the Captain should not inform the passengers, but even then that is a judgement call. If he just informed the crew, on arrival, that is quite smart. Considering that many of the passengers might have received notices from friends and family on their cell-phones. In this case you don't want the cabin crew being surprised. Note: the poster was working the flight, i.e. crew, not a passenger

Ia Orana All !

We were on AF 069 also LAX-CDG and we were told that 065 was going to MSP while we were flying. We were told that it was for a medical emergency indeed as AFCDGPTP told us.
We were also told about the AF447 ordeal when we arrived in CDG.

Our captain did not tell to all passengers about the missing 332; only to the crew while we were disembarking the passengers

Actually our captain told us -- I meant only the crew members -- We never said anything to the passengers while on board

I reckon if the passengers were told, it could start an unpleasant atmosphere amongst the cabin, it might also scare a few passengers.

Sorry to everyone who wanted to see this aircraft at MSP. I could have made it out there, but it was raining and I had a couch that needed some holding down. Hopefully someone a little closer snapped a couple though....

Light's pretty much gone by then. Last night was pretty cloudy, so if it had been about 2 hours earlier you could have gotten some really nice shots with sunlight coming through the clouds.

Eitherway, sorry I missed it.

I have NO problem whatsoever with the Capt informing the crew. I thought it was an announcement that he made over the PA system to the entire cabin. It was not exactly clear from the original post as to who the "us" referred to.

That the capt should not inform the pax is indeed a judgement call, but its one that I'd prefer to make.
