Well, fortunately the pilot made it with only a slight back injury. The unfortunate thing is that this aircraft held the title as being the oldest flyable jet in the world.
Rochester NY wings expo June 5 + 6. The vampire was the second plane in a flight of 2 departing runway 4 back to GVQ (batavia NY). Vampire experienced engine vibration and tried to return to the airport. Landed abeam the numbers in the grass between runway 4 and taxiway alpha.
