Hey everyone, I looked on flytecomm.com and flightaware.com and couldn't find the answer, so I figured I'd try to ask here and someone might know something.
I took my son down to the pool around 5pm tonight and we stayed for an hour. While watching him, I saw a four-jet aircraft flying WSW on approach to RDU. It had four jets and from below, it looked similar to the Boeing 707. I could even make out the tail, which appeared to be mostly white. In addition, the four jets were all dark blue.
Any help that you can offer is much appreciated. I am really curious what this strange visitor to RDU might have been.

If they were military aircraft, four Marine F-18's from Beaufort? South Carolina flew a low formation over Titan Stadium (LP Field) in Nashville Thursday evening about 7:30 PM following the playing of the National Anthem in celebration of CMA music fest. Possibly they were en-route to Nashville from S.C. via RDU airspace.
The F-18 did RON at the ANG base at BNA Thursday evening. Two of the four pilots appeared on stage later in the evening to a standing ovation from the crowd.
Man can be taken from Alaska. Alaska can never be taken from the man.

Quoting Jetpixx (Reply 7): Now, if I could only figure out where they were coming in from
They are based at Tinker AFB in OK. Could be comming in for one of the college graduations in the area. Alums, who go on to serve, sometimes will fly their aircraft back to their college for graduation weekend at least once.

Quoting Jetpixx (Reply 7): KSYR, that's EXACTLY what it was! Thank you so much!
Now, if I could only figure out where they were coming in from. That is totally it - I appreciate yours (and everyone else's) posts and assistance.
No problem. I remember seeing one doing touch-and-goes a few years ago and being absolutely baffled by it. Took me a little while but eventually I figured out what it was. Really a neat-looking aircraft.

I was out at RDU Saturday and took this shot from the parking garage. It was parked far off by the general aviation terminal and obviously I don't want to get too close and nosy to garner unwanted attention.
