Canadair and Bombardier, are they same company?
Since they are separated in airlinersnet's search box,
I am confused…  Confused

Yes, they are one and the same. Bombardier acquired both de Havilland and Canadair.

Bombardier acquired Canadair, Dehavilland, Shorts (in Ireland) and Learjet.

As all said before, Bombardier bought the 4 aircraft companies (Canadair & De Havilland in Canada, Learjet in the USA and Shorts in the UK) in the late 80's and put the all under one comapny called Bombardier Aerospace. Over the years, Bombardier have tried to bring these companies closer and closer together and a lot of team work is done between the 4 divisions. New planes like the Global Express and Continenta biz jets are going under the Bombardier name.
