Cockpit Windows Frames - Whypainted On Airbus?

Gang - something I've noticed lately - why is it that the exterior cockpit window frames are always painted to match the color of the airplane on airbuses, yet this isn't the case on boeings. Boeings remain the silver metal color. The airbuses actually look good cause it gives the appearance of the individual cockpit windows being molded right into the fuselage. But I'm curious to why this is. I did notice a NWA airbus recently with one cockpit window replaced and the frame was a green primer color. Looks like it just hadn't been painted yet.

That's a good question. I have no idea why the Airbus ones are almost always painted while Boeing's are almost never painted.
It does seem to vary depending on the airline though, I have found several that don't paint the window frames on the Airbus planes, such as Avianca, KL, LH, LA and Wizz Air.

Boeings are sometimes painted. Southwest paints theirs canyon blue.

Don't know what the advantages/disadvantages are!
