Hey guys and gals,

I've been getting e-mails from Spirit Airlines (which I signed up for), and I've been wondering about the $9 fare club. Is it worth the $34.95 per year? Are there any members here that can explain it to me?

I'm really curious if there is a catch to the deal and if the fare is really $9.

Any help is appreciated!

My Uncle and Aunt use it religiously. They get $9 deals all the time between MYR and BOS.

Nope, the fares are really as low as $9, excluding taxes and fees.

There's an extra charge for baggage, but (sadly) what major doesn't do that nowadays?

They have fares that low quite regularly, but you have to jump on them the minute they go on sale.

Last year Spirit carried about 7 million passengers, of which about 500,000 tickets we sold for under $10. So its indeed very possible to find such fares.

And according to their Chief Marketing Officer they plan on offering even more such seats in the future.
