I bet this is a first for spotting at MLB but looks like on Monday 6/22/09 there will be an ANTONOV 225 here to pick up a few choppers. The time is some where around 1900 or so and we don't know the exact time it will leave if it will be that same night or later the next day.
Just thought I would let you guys know that live in the MLB area.

Hey Jose, any updates? Are you sure it's the 225 and not the 124? Thanks!

Thanks Jose. I will have the camera handy.

From what I understand its the 225 but could be wrong. I was told 6 engines so that leaves me to think its the 225. One co-worker said just picture the C-5 but with 6 engines lol. But I'll try and find out sometime on Monday on which A/C it will be.

Maybe have a MLB meet and greet?
I can't wait for the Embraer facility. We should see more traffic from that.
And in another thread someone mentioned that a MIA-MLB flight on Eagle would make sense.
Anything for competition.

Are they coming to pick up Silver State's defunct R-22's? I use to work at both FBO's on the field and would have had a great view if I was still around.

So I guess the best place to watch this come in would be the east end of the runway near Apollo Blvd.

Yes it would be. The tower would not have it fly over wickham rd for a number of reasons. It is easier to fly out over the ocean and make a straight in approach.

Yeah, but where is the plane going to after the pick-up? If its going back to Minsk, its going to be pretty heavy and won't be able to spare a headwind for flying over Wickham.

Good question. Only GA planes and CRJ's come over wickham. Too many obstacles and much easier to come via the atlantic. My guess is she will stop in gander NF.

I have landed many times in MD80's and back when Delta brought in the 732's from the west over Wickham.
Not to mention the 707's that take off and land over Wickham.

Came in over Wickham and parked at the Liberty Aerospace ramp.
I took some awful cell phone pics.
Pretty big.
Main gear can pivot. Pretty cool.
