Nascar owner Jack Roush bought 3 Boeing 727's from a charter airline. Nascar online said all three are 50 passenger. Roush is converting all 3 to 90 passenger charter planes. He is planning on using 1 to transport his nascar teams to and from races and test sessions.
A second plane will be chartered out to other teams.
The third will either be sold or used for charters.
I do not know the name of the chater airline he bought out but Nascar online says he only paid 5 millon dollars for every thing. That seem like one hell of a bargian.
First Niki lauda now Jack Roush. If only Dale were here he would probly buy a Concorde or a 747.

The aircraft are 727-100s and are from R.D. Aviation. They are registered N502MG, 503MG and 504MG. Info on
503MG does show it being leased to Roush 11/27/00.

Two of them have been in CLT for some time. They are parked just to the east of the old terminal on the south side of the airport.

If the Roush 727's are 727-100 models, maybe he should send them to Dee Howard to do the conversion to new cockpits and Rolls-Royce Tay engines. That will allow the plane to fly on past 2018.  Smile

We want them to race the 74. People love the 74.

I can see it already with the "hot rod" flames painted on it. Never thought I would get excited about someones advertising campain!
