I saw this plane on approach for KMHR about an hour ago. I think they are pretty rare now. Any ideas who it belongs to and what it is doing?

Thanks

Robbie

I checked Flightaware prior to posting but could not find anything. I think the flight was local because I saw it climbing in the distance about twenty minutes prior and thought that it looked a lot like an SP. But, I doubted myself because I had never seen one before. When it overflew my house all remaining doubt was removed. Beautiful ship.

Quoting LAXintl (Reply 2):

NASA flights are normally found on the flight tracking sites.

What would make this easier would be a description of the paint job on the a/c.

My own thought is that it is one of the Las Vegas Sands 747SPs, as they (like the entire LV Sands fleet) have had their registrations blocked from the various flight tracking sites.

Any chance it's the Fry's Electronics 747SP, N747A?

Another blocked a/c, so I'd definitely put that on the list of potential 747SPs it could be.

EDIT: I didn't notice srbmod's post when I wrote mine, but at least the picture should help confirm or disconfirm the identity of the airfcraft!

Another that is blocked is Rev. Ernest Angley's P4-FSH!

Thanks for the info. It must have been the FRY's aircraft. My iPhone tracker showed there was a registration of N747A nearby at the time. It gave no more information and flightaware was no help at all.

What's the story with this plane?

Thanks
Robbie
