Quoting RAFVC10 (Reply 1): Which kind of passengers would fly from OPO to Saint Etienne or Tours?
Isn't there a sizable Portugese population living in France? I believe in Europe, France has the largest Portugese population outside Portugal. I guess they attract this kind of traffic.
Interesting to see EBU combing back in the network. Currently, EBU does not have any scheduled services.
And of course, I'm happy to see EIN getting a new destination.
Would this mean that OPO becomes a base, or will they increase their number of W-patterns?
I'm hopeful that Oporto will become a base for Ryanair. Would be nice to see Ryanair look at expending their offerings to Madeira and Azores from Oporto. We sure need the competition.
Looking at these times (arrival at OPO 23:25 from EIN), it seems like OPO will be FRs next base.
Also, OPO-BVA will be increased to two-daily. A morning-rotation keeps being done on a W-pattern so far, but an extra daily evening flight is added:
OPO-BVA 1915-2220
BVA-OPO 2245-2350
Seeing how the flight times of BVA and EIN / BSL overlap, OPO will probably get 2 aircraft based.
No official press release yet, but routes are for sale at typical Ryanair prices, (less than EUR 40 one-way incl. taxes & surcharges) and are drawn on the map. OPOs dot isn't red yet (meaning a base), though, but this often takes a little longer.
