How Did DL's CVG-HNL Svc Do?

Just remembered the other day about the former DL CVG-HNL 764 flight, and that it is no longer offered. Two questions: 1) How long was it offered for (I seem to remember it started around the fall of 2003ish but don't recall when it ended) and 2) How did it do for them (both revenue and loads)?

The CVG-Hawaii flights were placeholders for 764 routes that have been added. I wanna say the CVGHNL ran until 2006-ish, and they also briefly flew CVGOGG too.

The CVH-HNL flight began on 1 Nov 03. I wasn't aware that it had ended. I guess that it was "seasonal" and then was eventually terminated. I'm now curious as to when it finally ceased. Maybe around the time that ATL-OGG and SLC-KOA ended?

CVG-OGG never flew. I flew CVG-HNL in December '04. I remember the flight seemed to be pretty consistently full, but usually yields into Hawaii were a different story. My guess is that the flight ended sometime in late '05 or early '06.


The proper term is "on final" not "on finals" bud...

My parents flew PITATLOGG, then HNLCVGPIT in May of 2004, both on 767s from ATL and to CVG. So that means the flight to CVG had to be year-round. It was a regular flight number, not a 9000 series, so it couldn't have been a charter like ATLOGG was at the time. DL did add ATLOGG briefly in late 2004.

Delta Air Lines is dropping its daily flight from Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport after Labor Day, WCPO-TV reported Wednesday.

The airline told WCPO it might bring the flight back on a seasonal basis.

Travelers from Cincinnati to Honolulu will have to change planes in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Atlanta or Salt Lake City.

Atlanta-based Delta (NYSE: DAL) operates a hub from the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport.
