DAL 767-400 Return To ATL And Fuel Dump 7/8?

I went out for a run tonight around 1940 eastern time and shortly after I heard an airplane coasting in overhead (I live under the end of the FLCON arrival on the NE side of ATL). I looked up and saw a 767-400 dumping fuel, much to my surprise.

I looked up the arrivals on Flightaware and could not find any air returns to ATL this evening- the only 767-400 arrival around that time was a JFK arrival.

Does anyone have any info on this? Not sure why a JFK arrival would be dumping fuel unless there was a pretty major malfunction, and its ground track didn't show any oddities.


Maybe some of you out there with your wonderous connections can find something out??

This flight was DL 108 ATL - MAD. Nose Gear would not retract. Air return and fuel dump was accomplished. Returned back to the gate at 2009.

I actually thought I saw the nosegear out or partially out, although I couldn't be sure.

Now that I have the flight number, it was ship 1818.

They ship changed and took 1803 out... departed at around 2230E.
