well, if this turns out to be true, than i really believe that AZ will enter skyteam. seems logical, and it´s not that long ago that DL mentioned they´d really like AZ joining skyteam...

If only pure sweetness was offered, why's this bitter taste left in my mouth.

I've read it, too.
But I've also read this this afternoon:
(ANSA).

I'll try to summerize what it says:
it says that despite the news published on "La Repubblica" newspaper, Alitalia is still in talks with other european airlines (Air France, KLM and other airlines). At the end of these "talks" the management will communicate the results to the Minister of Treasure which will decide for the partnership.

I am sure that There was an Alitalia/KLM alliance but it broke up, not that they were never able to form one.

La Republica has the habit of having it wrong. They forcasted many times that AZ were to sign an alliance agreement with KLM in the very near future (in fact they should have signed by now according to some reports). Now, finally, La Republica realises that KLM is not interested in AZ and starts issueing reports on a possible AF-AZ deal. Let's hope they're right.
Anyway AZ denied the report and AF said: NO COMMENT. Sounds familiar to me.

It would be at least surprising for Alitalia (that is basically state owned) to decide on alliances just before general elections, that are due mid May if I am not wrong.
However, nothing surprises me anymore about Alitalia or Italy, so....maybe it is true!
