Can anyone tell me whether or not ALL of Ansett Australia's flights between Hong Kong and Sydney are run by B 747-400s please?

Thanks! And hope to hear from you guys soon!  Smile

Ansett doesnot state which aircraft type a flight will be operated by in any of it's publicity including it's website (I booked a ticket on it 2 days ago).

In answer to your question, a friend of mine flew from MEL-SYD on a HKG bound flight and it was the 763, which I understand is infact in service currently. That was a few months ago. Certainly there is a daily 744 service from SYD, but I understand any flight that involves MEL is operated by the 763.

Hope that helps  Smile

It should be the 744 to SYD and the 763 to MEL, however last month I saw the 762 VH-RMM, so who knows !!

Ansett operate a B744 Wed-Sun and a B763 Mon-Tue on the SYD-HKG route. The B763 operates MEL-HKG Wed,Fri-Sun.

Hkgspotter1:

You would have seen VH-RMM operate to HKG because this is Ansett's only B767-200ER, and the maintenence backup for VH-BZF (the only B763 in the fleet).

Hope this helps,

B727-200.

The current 763 on that route is a AirNZ aircraft being used by AN as there other 767 i think is getting a major maintenece overhaul here in AKL.!

Cheers
