FR has announced its fourth route from LIL, an airport with a catchment of over 10m yet is extremely underserved.

OPO-LIL will operate three-weekly - Tu, Th, Sa - using an OPO-based 73H.

The timings are:

OPO-LIL: 1100-1420
LIL-OPO: 1445-1615

The other destinations it serves from LIL are ALC MRS, and PSA.

If it's an OPO based 737 and OPO is an FR base, wouldn't it be a fourth route to LIL instead of "from" LIL?  Smile

How much of that is also CRL's catchment though? Or indeed BVA's? Might explain FR's slow expansion there

It is the same difference: the service goes to and from LIL. Stop being pedantic.

To some extent it would. But most French regional airports are, despite often large catchment areas, rather underserved. This is due, to a degree, by AF's stranglehold. However, LCCs are slowly entering.

you seem to forget that Lille is less than 1hr from CDG by high speed train. And there are quite many trains daily. LIL is aslo served by AF from several cities in France, but going to CDG by TGV gives access to all world destinations served non-stop from there.

True although I have always found the ''combi'' tickets quite expensive.

Thanks for the info. I usually fly from CRL but LIL is also an option...
