Here is a list of aircraft currently in SkyTeam livery:
Delta Air Lines B-767-400ER N844MH (April 2009)
Czech Airlines ATR-42 OK-JFL (May 2009) (you gotta be kidding me!)
Aeromexico B-767-200ER XA-JBC (May 2009)
Alitalia B-767-300ER EI-DBP (May 2009)
Air France B-777-300ER F-GZNE (June 2009)
China Southern Airlines B-777-200ER B-2056 (June 2009)

And here is a list of aircraft that will be painted into SkyTeam livery:
KLM B-777-300ER PH-BVD(August 2009)
Korean Air A330-200 (October 2009)
Aeroflot A330-200 (November 2009)

However, I read somewhere that each airline will have AT LEAST one aircraft in SkyTeam livery. Does this mean that we could eventually see a second SkyTeam livery aircraft in the Delta fleet?

If DL does paint another aircraft into SkyTeam livery, I would perhaps put it on one of Delta's narrowbodies. Perhaps one of the ex-TWA ETOPS 752s might be a good choice.

What is the deal with Czech painting an ATR instead of versus one of their 737s or Airbus'?

I'd take the awe of understanding over the awe of ignorance any day.

The Skyteam ATR-42 is a nice companion to all the heavy Boeing twins, but I suppose CSA ought to paint one of their Airbuses in the scheme too. I was glad to see the ATR in Berlin recently.

If I would do a second SkyTeam livery aircraft for each airline, here is what I would do:

Delta - Boeing 757-200 ex-TWA ETOPS
Czech - Airbus A321-200
Aeromexico - Boeing 737-800
Air France - Airbus A318-100
Alitalia - Airbus A320-216
China Southern - Boeing 737-700
KLM - McDonnell Douglas MD-11
Korean Air - Boeing 737-900
Aeroflot - Ilyushin Il-96-300

Most of them I chose are narrowbodies, except for KLM and Aeroflot, where I chose particular aircraft unique to those particular airlines.

Why don't they get a 747 into SkyTeam livery instead??? It's more typical aircraft for either airline not to mention 747 looks so much better than a boring twinjet...

While the 744 is now the largest aircraft in DL's fleet, DL still considers the 772LR to be their flagship. However, I am guessing the reason why DL chose the 764ER to have the SkyTeam livery is probably because of uniqueness.

And would that be the one that´s gonna be chartered to an African Airline?
Mmmmm, not gonna happen anyway I think!
Would be cool to see though! That KLM 777 should be beautiful next month!
Anybody know the name?

Sky Team will lose some major members soon.............Continental / Copa etc, so what is the biggest alliance now?

Frankly, that's "uniqueness" from the angle of an aviation nerd. If the appeal is aimed at regular passengers I would think the iconic look of a 747 would be a better choice to advertise SkyTeam, especially if in the case of KE they have 40+ of them in their fleet.
Even in aviation totally uninterested "Joe Sixpack" who can't tell Airbus from Boeing will recognize a "Jumbo".

Not likely. IMO its due to 1) aircraft needed paint 2) it does TATL trips 3) it will be going to LHR..........They wont pick a bird because it isn't in any other Sky fleet. Most are picked because they need paint or like more the airlines are yet to be painted all together.
If DL puts more birds in Sky its likely a WB that need paint. So look 76E,77E,744,A330.

yep.

I dont think that it will change the current size rankings , Star is the biggest at the moment and Oneworld the smallest with Skyteam in the middle and I think that will still be the order after CO moves and CM drops out of Skyteam .

Hey, does anyone know the name of this plane?
I know the KLM 777´s are normally National Parks like Galapagos, Macchu Pichu, Litomysl Castle, Hoge Veluwe etc etc.
