Does anyone have a list of flights that diverted to BOS tonight. I was at logan at 815pm and saw 2 CO 777's and 1 LH A340 sitting at north cargo. Anyone know what flights these are operating?

Thanks

I would assume they were en route to JFK/EWR. The weather in the New York Area was pretty crummy today.

All Newark diversions into Boston

Air France 018 CDG A330-200
Lufthansa 402 FRA B747-400
Lufthansa 412 MUC A340-600
Open Skies 003 ORY B757-200
Continental 145 MAD B757-200
Continental 105 ATH B767-400
Continental 085 TLV B777-200
Continental 029 LHR B777-200

This last one (Heathrow) was a double diversion... It went to Albany 1st, then to Boston...

Why would CO flight control choose ALB as a diversion point for a B777? BOS should be considered in the first place over a ALB.

Two thoughts:

The initial approach to EWR brings them down through upstate NY so ALB is on the path down..

or

Generally, once lousy weather leaves NYC, it heads northeast toward BOS...BOS can also be congested and maybe not the best alternate
